Scenic Fall Color Routes in State Forests

State forests offer excellent scenic drives to take during peak fall color.

Hilly or rugged areas dominated by deciduous trees tend to have the best mix of color. And the dark green needles of conifers accent the yellow, orange and red leaves of deciduous trees in mixed forests.

Below are some suggested routes and time of year to view fall color in some of Minnesota's 59 state forests.
